Mission
To teach wood painting that is beautiful, durable, and humane — to the material, to the maker, and to the space where it lives.
Plainbridge Atelier began in a small riverside studio where friends restored heirloom cradles and benches for growing families. We chose soft pastels and low-VOC finishes to keep the process kind to homes and makers. Word spread, and our teaching style — careful, calm, and precise — became the heart of our courses.
Today we help beginners and artisans refinish furniture with confidence. We design every lesson to protect the character of wood, celebrate gentle color, and honor a mindful pace.
To teach wood painting that is beautiful, durable, and humane — to the material, to the maker, and to the space where it lives.
We favor short lessons, step-by-step checklists, and compassionate feedback. No hype, no false urgency — only trustworthy guidance.
Safety-first demonstrations, transparent materials lists, and clear surface-prep protocols help you achieve gallery-grade results at home.
